Well Here’s to Bloggin’

I’ve known about blogging for about two years now, but I could never see me placing myself in a situation that required determination and process. You know, trying to religiously update a blog just because I thought it would be nice. Well, nice has never cut it. I just don’t have a drive to do something with a constant pace. I’ve attempted exercising with two solid weeks under my belt (my gut still hanging above my belt) giving up as the season rolls in and my mom’s food rolls out (my parents are Guatemalan, so our culture thrives on an abundance of food throughout the season), dieting relies on how much money I have on me (one dollar gets me one McChicken Sandwich! Please hold the mayo, ’cause I’m on a diet, oh and water to drink); so keeping up on something–even if it’s for my own benefit–is tough for me.

So I’m going to hold bloggin’ in content to change my habits. So here’s my lesson for the day:

Bad habits rule our life if we let them. That’s because they’re the easiest to carry. Things that require kinetics on our part make us reach for our excuse book on “Why I Have Better Things To Do Than Positive Things.” It’s easy to be lazy and it’s tough to do something good in our lives, but working hard for something and reaping its benefits is the best feeling a human can feel. Ask a person who is in shape or who is wealthy. They’ll tell you determination, practice, and persistence are the keys to our betterment.
