About
I started commonthoughts simply because I realized that the everyday common things that we already know are the hardest things to do. For example, everyone knows that exercise is important for our mind, body, spirit, and soul, however I only know of a handful of people who exercise on a regular basis. Others try (millions of others try) and end up turning to dieting, ’cause exercise is so tough.
Dieting…yeah, like that’s an easier alternative. We do it ’cause again it’s good for our bodies and we want to look good. So we eat styrofoam meats and salads that we feel will make us healthy, but that doesn’t last long. Eventually everyone of us ends up at least browsing through GNC wondering what they might have.
Hold on, this blog isn’t about diet and exercise. It’s about common thoughts. Here’s another one:
How many of us have been saving money for retirement. We’ve heard it before, “SAVE! SPEND LESS! BUILD A NESTEGG!” 401K, IRAs, investments, royalties…blah, blah, blah. We know we should do it (it’s for our own good), but do we? No! We want this, we want that, we need this…get the picture?
Commonthings, the things that we know we should do but don’t. I only point them out ’cause I do the same crap. But I’m trying to change my habits. It’s a start. I’m far from perfect, so hopefully this blog will let me see things in a new perspective. I’ll call it my self talk. You can read along if you’d like.
If you ever decide you like my thoughts you can donate to me at any time.
